Baize — Championship Snooker
Privacy Policy
In short: Teglax LLC does not collect, transmit or sell your personal information. Everything the game remembers — your name, your statistics, your settings — stays on your own device.
The one exception is adverts. BAIZE shows adverts from Google AdMob in three places: a banner at the foot of the Rules screen and the Stats screen, and a video you can choose to watch to enter a championship or to replay a tie you lost. Google collects some information to show them. Section 5 says exactly what, and how to limit it. There are no adverts during play.
This policy explains what BAIZE: Championship Snooker (“the app”, “we”) does with information when you use it. It applies to the Android application published by Teglax LLC on Google Play.
1. Information we do not collect
We want to be specific rather than reassuring, because most of this policy is a list of things that are absent. The app contains:
- No analytics or telemetry of our own. We do not measure how you play, how long you play, or which screens you open, and we receive no report about you from anyone.
- No crash-reporting service. Crashes are not sent anywhere by the app.
- No account with us. There is no BAIZE login, no email address, no password.
- No location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or files. The app requests none of these permissions.
- No device identifiers collected by us. Google's advertising software uses one to show adverts; we never see it. See section 5.
- No adverts during play. Nothing interrupts a frame, a shot or a match.
2. Information stored on your device
The app saves a small amount of data locally, using Android's standard app-preferences storage. It stays on your device, is never uploaded to us, and is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data.
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| The display name you enter | Shown on the scoreboard, and shown to the other players when you play over Wi-Fi |
| Frames played and won, balls potted, highest break, best frame score | Your career statistics screen |
| Settings: sound on/off, graphics quality, frame-rate display, chosen game, reds count, match length, difficulty | So the game opens the way you left it |
| Chosen table, room and cue appearance | So your table looks the same next time |
3. Play over local Wi-Fi
The app can host or join a game with other devices on the same local
network. This feature uses the INTERNET,
ACCESS_WIFI_STATE and
CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE Android permissions.
When you open the Wi-Fi lobby, the app broadcasts a short message on your local network so nearby devices running BAIZE can find it, and then connects directly to them. The information exchanged is:
- The display name you entered
- Which game variant and settings are being played
- The shots taken, and the resulting positions of the balls
This traffic goes directly between the devices on your own network. It does not pass through any server operated by Teglax LLC, and we neither see nor store any of it. Nothing is kept once the game ends.
The INTERNET permission is required by Android for any
network socket, including purely local ones. The app does not use it to
contact servers of ours, because there are none.
4. Google Play Games Services (optional)
The app can submit your highest break and best frame score to Google Play Games leaderboards. This is optional and the game is fully playable without it. If you are signed in to Play Games on your device, Google may process your Play Games profile and the scores submitted, under Google's Privacy Policy rather than this one. We do not receive a copy of your Google account details.
5. Adverts (Google AdMob)
BAIZE shows adverts supplied by Google AdMob. They appear in exactly three places:
- A banner at the bottom of the Rules screen.
- A banner at the bottom of the Stats screen.
- A video you choose to watch, in the championship: one to enter a new tournament, and one to replay a tie you were knocked out of. Nothing plays unless you tap a button that says so, and declining costs you nothing but the tournament entry or the replay itself.
No advert is ever shown during a frame, and there are no full-screen adverts that appear on their own.
What Google collects
To show and measure adverts, the Google Mobile Ads software inside the app collects and sends the following to Google. We do not receive it, and we never see any of it about you individually:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your device's IP address, which can be used to estimate the general area you are in | Choosing adverts, and fraud prevention |
| Advertising identifiers: the Android advertising ID and app set ID | Choosing adverts, limiting repeats, and measuring them |
| Interactions with the adverts and the app around them — launches, taps, video views | Measuring adverts and detecting invalid activity |
| Diagnostic information such as start-up time and crashes in the advertising software | Keeping it working |
This information is sent to Google over an encrypted connection and is handled under Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Your choices
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and some US states, the app asks for your choice before any advert is requested, using Google's own consent form. You can change that answer at any time: Settings → Ad privacy inside the game.
- Anywhere, Android lets you limit this: Settings → Privacy → Ads (wording varies by phone) offers Delete advertising ID or opting out of personalised adverts. Adverts still appear, but are no longer chosen from your advertising ID.
- Simply not watching. The video adverts are opt-in. The two banners are on screens you can leave at once.
Adverts are limited to Google's G — general audiences rating, to match the game's own 3+ rating.
6. Google Play
Distribution is through Google Play, which collects its own information about installs, purchases and crashes independently of the app. That processing is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We may see aggregated, anonymous statistics in the Play Console; these cannot identify an individual.
7. Children
BAIZE is a sports game suitable for a general audience, and its target audience on Google Play is 13 and over. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Adverts are restricted to Google's general-audiences rating.
Because we collect no personal information at all, there is nothing for us to delete on request — uninstalling the app removes everything it saved on your device. To clear what Google holds against your advertising ID, use Delete advertising ID in your phone's Android settings.
8. Your choices
- Remove your data: uninstall the app, or use Android's Settings → Apps → BAIZE → Storage → Clear data.
- Change your display name: at any time, from the game options screen.
- Avoid sharing your name over Wi-Fi: simply do not use the Same Wi-Fi mode.
- Leaderboards: sign out of Google Play Games on your device to stop scores being submitted.
9. Security
Because the app stores data only on your device and transmits nothing to us, there is no server-side store of your information to be breached. Local Wi-Fi play is unencrypted and intended for a network you trust, such as your home or a friend's; treat it as you would any other device on that network.
10. Changes to this policy
If the app's data handling changes — for example if analytics were ever added, or adverts appeared somewhere new — this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top will change. Adverts were added in version 1.0.3, on 16 September 2026.
